Creature of Habit

September- October 2025

Hand dyed wool roving over foam and wire with paper mache, acrylic paint, thread, plastic beads, paper, plastic bag, and a plastic cup

This creature is an exploration of the "bad habits" one may consistently perform. It aims not to criticize these actions, but explore them through a more humorous approach, one that allows the viewer to experience a bit of the silliness that is so integral to this creature's life.

This little guy was created to display at the SAIC Galleries Undergraduate Exhibition as a final display for my BFA in studio arts. Lingus, Pingus, Dingus, and Fingus are my love letter to habitual action, as well as the past. Sitting at the crux of my practice currently, this work reflects on the actions, though some questionable, that have occurred as I progressed through my undergraduate degree. Through every joint, every tab, every drunken night that leads to a morning throwing up after, there is a constant fondness and a sense of humor that permeates, one that I hope to impart onto the viewer.
